Took some out of town guests here for a late breakfast. Cute diner vibe, small and cozy restaurant. Food was very good and what I liked best is the servings were a normal size not the huge, expensive mountains of food most places now serve. I had four pecan waffles and the size was just right, fresh and tasty. Servers were pleasant and the place was clean. Lost a star because the coffee was luke warm, no matter how many times my cup was topped off the coffee was not hot.

Perfect breakfast/brunch joint. Cozy atmosphere with delicious food. Always stop by when I'm in the Highlands.

Great local spot for breakfast with fast and friendly service. The portions were comfortably large and the food was very well done. We saw lots of locals having breakfast here which is always a great sign. We will visit again when we are in Louisville.

We should have expected the long wait. Sunday morning. Bourbon and Beyond Music festival. A packed restaurant. But the 40 minute wait was worth every second. Our group of 10 was easily served by Brandie. Orders came out together, hot and without any mistakes. That's quite a tribute to both the wait staff and the kitchen. Every dish was done right. The eggs were moist. The bacon crisp. The breakfast potatoes done right. And pricing more than fair. If you're a fan of breakfast joints, Highland Morning will beat the better known stops.

My all-time favorite pancake in the world. Is this delicious and decadent key lime pie pancake from highland mornings. It's fluffy, light, buttery. I definitely recommend all of their breakfast offerings.

This was a fun breakfast place with a chill vibe. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, but then someone must have left and we were seated in less than 5 minutes! The service was friendly and I appreciated our waitress informing us we could do the mimosa bucket instead of having to reorder a bunch! I also prefer that so I can pour my own preferred champagne to orange juice ratio. We ordered The Baja Benedict, Sara's southern pecan waffles, and biscuits and gravy on the side. The best tasting was the Biscuits and gravy by far! I could have eaten many more helpings! Then the pecan waffles. I always try waffles and pancakes by themselves to see if they're actually good, or relying on syrup drowning out any blandness. These were very tasty by themselves. But of course, adding some butter and syrup didn't hurt! The Baja Benedict wasn't bad, but it wasn't super impressive either. I liked how they used corn cakes instead of English muffin, that was creative. I wish it had subbed some of the tomatoes for more avocado, but as my husband pointed out, that wouldn't be very cost effective. Other than that, I can't pin point what else would have made it pop. Overall, we recommend Highland Morning. Order the biscuits and gravy and prepare to be satisfied!!

Start the timer! 10:20am sat right away 10:29am server apologized, she had 3 groups sat simultaneously. No problem. We got our orders in right away when she visited. No more seats available so we'll take it! 10:30 waters delivered. 10:40 food delivered! 10:52 Server was ahead of the game, noticed we had just about finished and offered to bring the check. 10:56 paid! Food was good. Ordered B&G and it had decent flavor. Two poached medium eggs, but one was medium and one was just beyond that. Our server, Amy, was great!

Cool little spot. They also have outdoor sitting. They do have street parking in front of the building, but it is very limited, which is expected for the highlands. The wait wasn't very long. They told us 15 minutes, but we got called before then. I ordered the shrimp and grits. This comes with eggs and bacon. I asked for my eggs to be fried. Our waitress Amy was very nice. We were greeted right away when we came through the door. I know breakfast is breakfast, but we wanted to try a different spot that we never went to before. The only thing I didn't care for was that the shrimp had the tail on it, so I had to remove it before digging into my meal. Other than that, it was good, and they have plenty of different options for you to choose from.
